John Allen has been a Textile Designer specialising in printed, woven and knitted fabrics for over 25 years.
John’s latest exhibition was inspired by ‘British Landscapes‘. In this exhibition more than any of others, his design aim was to show his personal emotional response to the countryside.
John has also been working with Jonathan Anderson, Design Director of Loewe, on a range of bags, beach towels and scarves based on some of the carpet designs from John’s ‘British Landscapes’ exhibition. Read more about this exciting collaboration on the Loewe page.
Inspired by Aboriginal art, John’s first exhibition called ‘Dreamtime Revisited‘ was first shown in 2003. His second exhibition in 2008 was called ‘The Forbidden Kingdom‘, inspired by Nepalese landscape and culture.
A selection of wall carpets from ‘The Forbidden Kingdom’ exhibition are still available for exhibition and to purchase. All carpets are produced as ‘one-offs’ or in limited editions of three. Commissions are also undertaken.
